Questions
Does my footage get uploaded?
No. Everything runs on your computer: indexing, search, faces. The app only goes online to download its AI models, check for updates and (on paid plans) your licence, and fetch a show's character list when you pick one. No analytics, no tracking.
What do I need to run it?
A Windows 10 or 11 PC. Standard search runs on most computers (about 2 GB of downloads). Best-quality search wants a graphics card and 16 GB of memory, and the app picks the right setting for your PC. A Mac version comes after the Windows beta.
Which editors does it work with?
It has panels inside Premiere Pro and After Effects. The desktop app works with anything else: drag trimmed clips into Vegas, CapCut or DaVinci Resolve, or export an XML or EDL sequence. For Alight Motion, export the clips and copy them to your phone.
Is it only for anime?
It's built for anime and AMV editing first, with characters, tags and show names, but searching dialogue and shots works on any footage.
How accurate is it?
On our test of 57 random clips from 10 shows, a right result comes first or near the top for most searches, and when something isn't in your footage it usually says so. AI can still be wrong, so you always see the clip before you use it.
