Put clips into CapCut

This guide shows you how to get the moments you found in Potheon into CapCut (the desktop app for Windows). It works with the free version and with CapCut Pro.

How it works: you drag a result out of Potheon and drop it into CapCut, just like dragging a video from a folder. What arrives is a short video file of exactly that moment.

This is in the Potheon desktop app. Have Potheon and CapCut side by side on the screen.

Step 1 (optional): Set where the clip starts and ends

CapCut can make a clip shorter, but never longer: the extra seconds aren't in the file. If you might want the line before or the reaction after, set that first. Double-click the result in Potheon and drag the pink handles. The full steps are in Make a clip longer or shorter before you use it.

Step 2: Drag the result into CapCut

Put your mouse on the picture of the result in Potheon, hold the left mouse button down, and move the mouse over to CapCut. Let go:

If the picture says Preparing clip… when you start, keep holding the button: Potheon is cutting the clip, and the drag starts a moment later.

You can also drag by the small arrows icon that appears at the top right of a result when you point at it.

Step 3: Edit as usual

The clip is now an ordinary video in CapCut. Trim it, add effects, put music under it.
